PV

I am just now getting around to posting pictures of our vacation, sorry! I just have been in a funk lately. We had a great time in Puerto Vallarta! We loved the beach, atmosphere and food! We enjoyed the relaxation, adventure and quality time together!!

Our hotel

Josh and I at the beach

We went into Downtown Puerto Vallarta one day to look at the shops and enjoy the boardwalk. We ate lunch at a place that served only enchiladas, and they were awesome enchiladas!!! This is the view from the 2nd floor restaurant.

We also spent a day each snorkeling, zip lining and relaxing at the beach. Zip lining had to be one of my favorite things that we did, seeing humpback whales while going out snorkeling was pretty amazing too!! I am not usually an adventurous person, but I may have to take up zip lining and rappelling! I am so proud of my husband too, he is scared of height and went zip lining for me. And he loved it!! Pictures of zip lining and rappelling below.

On our last night in Puerto Vallarta we took a cruise to a remote part of the mainland, had dinner on the beach by candlelight and watched a performance of Rhythms of the Night (a show about the love of the ancient Aztecs).

I loved the weather, too! It was 80 degrees and sunny! As I write this we have 6 inches of snow on the ground!! I leave you with a few random pictures!

Yellow Polka Dot Bikini

I started packing for my vacation today. As I was going through my swimsuits, I got a song stuck in my head. It goes something like this: "Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini" So I was wondering in your opinion does a yellow polka dot bikini look like this:

Or like this:

When I was in elementary school I wore a swimsuit like the 2nd one for my part in the talent show. Obviously, we sang the song and I was supposed to be the girl wearing the yellow polka dot bikini. Did I wear the wrong one??? Does yellow polka dot mean the polka dots are yellow or that the background is yellow and it has polka dots on it??

Anyway, my original purpose of this post was to ask a question. How many swimsuits should I pack for a 6 day trip to Mexico??

Clothing Dilemma

So, Josh and I are leaving for vacation on Monday. We will be spending 6 days in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico! Wooh-Who! It is supposed to be in the 40’s when we leave Oklahoma, but 85 when we arrive in Puerto Vallarta. So I have a couple options when it comes to clothing attire for the airplane ride.
a. Wear jeans, tank, cardigan, tennis shoes
b. Wear maxi dress, cardigan, sandals
c. Wear jeans, tank, cardigan, sandals, but pack a dress in my carry on and change during our layover (which is only 50 minutes)
d. Wear jeans, tank, cardigan, sandals, but pack a dress in my carry on and change in the plane restroom ( My friend at work said that I would probably have my dress halfway on and fall down and bust through the door)
e. Any idea you can come up with

OK. All my followers out there, all one of you, let me know what you think!!

Thankful

I have so much to be thankful for this year, as I do every year. I am thankful for:

  • My husband who loves me unconditionally, understands me and would do anything for me.
  • Fenway who is a great companion and a joy
  • My parents who love and treasure me even though we don’t always see eye to eye
  • My extended family who bring such laughter and great times to my life
  • Our jobs even though this isn’t what we set out to do
  • Friends that make me laugh, cry and smile
  • Our home which we are making our own
  • God
  • Our upcoming vacation, which is much needed
  • Every other thing that makes up our life. We are living the life we want to and it feels great!!

To decorate or not to decorate.....

That is the question.

Well, I guess when to decorate is the real question. Do you decorate for Christmas as soon as Halloween is over, as soon as Thanksgiving is over, whenever you get around to it or never???

Growing up my mom never decorated for Christmas until after Thanksgiving. Then we would go to the Christmas tree farm and pick out a tree. I always loved doing this. The Christmas tree farm we went to had carriage rides, a little cabin with cookies and cider and a petting zoo. I even remember wondering if the llamas would really spit on me!! Or if I could make them spit at me. After picking out our tree and having the worker cut it for us, we would load it in the truck to bring it home.

One of the problems for us was getting the tree to stand up straight in the tree holder. We would think it was perfectly straight and then let go of it and it would lean to the left, never the right always the left. But once we got it in the stand correctly, my mom put the multi-colored lights on and she and I decorated it with all different kinds of ornaments. I loved these days! I was always so excited about decorating.

Even though Josh and I have an artificial tree and decorate our tree differently, I still love the tradition of decorating our tree! My mom decorated after Thanksgiving and so do we. Luckily, Josh feels the same way so there is no disagreeing on this matter. So when do you decorate and why?
