ACM's 2010

I am going to interrupt my Date Night posts to bring you fashion of the Academy of Country Music Awards.  Photos courtesy of http://www.omg.yahoo.com/

Couples of the Night:

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban

I would rather have seen Keith in something a little more rugged, but he is presentable.  I think Nicole made a bad choice with this one.  If it didn't have the white detailing it would have been a lot better, she looks like a bad cowboy shirt.

Tim McGraw and Faith Hill

Tim is pulling off the modern cowboy look well.  I wasn't so sure about Faith's dress, but I decided that I like it, even though the sleeves (OK, not sleeves, but not sure what to call them) are a little odd.  They are a beautiful couple though.

Camila Alves and Matthew McConaughey

Not really sure why they are at the ACM's, but anyway.  If you watched the show you know they conceived their 2nd child after the ACM's last year.  So there may be another baby on the way for them if they keep up their tradition!! On to fashion.  He looks traditional, but she sure doesn't.  I love her shoes, I would love to own them!  She just had a baby a few months ago and looks fabulous.  The slit is a little reminiscent of Mariah Carrey at the Oscars.

Why Were They There?

Lindsey Vonn

Wow!  Stunning.  I love everything about this dress. She could have done something with her hair, though.

LL Cool J

Too much black.  Take off the cap, change the jeans and shoes and it might work.

Stunning Ladies

Hillary Scott of Lady Antebellum

Flawless!  I love the cut and color of the gown, the single strap works in this case.  And her hair looks so soft and airy.

Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland

Again, the hair is flawless.  The gown could have been one size bigger, but other than that gorgeous.  Not a fan of the long necklace, but everything else is great.

Carrie Underwood

This is my favorite dress that Carrie wore.  At least it is appropriate to post.  The one she wore to start the show was so incredibly short that you could see up it.  Plus she wouldn't keep her legs closed.  Back to the look pictured, it is a little edgy, but not trying too hard.  Love, love, love the shoes!

Laura Bell Bundy

She may have been great on Broadway, but her song from her country album not so much.  Her music was a little too cliché country for me.  Her dress on the other hand, is very pretty.  She is showing leg, but not cleavage, not too much of everything.

Taylor Swift

This is a departure for Taylor Swift.  She is usually all sequined out and in red, black, gold or silver.  She doesn't seem too thrilled about the change either, but I think she looks more elegant.  She is working the purple/grey embroidery and upswept hair.

Reba McEntire

She looks amazing, anyone would love to have her body at any age.  Her dress is age appropriate and classy.  It isn't too revealing, nor too matronly. I read somewhere that she is what Taylor Swift will look like in 20 or 30 years (dress included).

My favorites were Hillary Scott and Lindsey Vonn.  What was yours?

Oscars 2010

Oscars were last night.  I didn't feel too good, but I did watch the Red Carpet and over half of the awards ceremony.  Below are the looks I like and the looks I didn't.

Looks I Like:

Kristen Stewart
I like the color and fit.  She is glamorous.

Miley Cyrus
I think she looks beautiful.  Perfect color, perfect accessories.  I think it is very age appropriate.

Rachel McAdams
I love the hair and silhouette.  Not big on prints on gowns, but this is nice.

Sandra Bullock
At first I didn't like it, but it grew on me.  Or maybe it is because I love Sandra!

Vera Farmiga
Love the ruffles and color!  And the ruffles, did I mention the ruffles??

Looks I Don't Like

Demi Moore
It is a bad sign when your dress and your skin are the same color and your dress is orange!

Jennifer Lopez
This reminds me of cellophane.  And I don't like fabric attached to the hip, I would have liked it if it wasn't for this.

Mariah Carey
I like the color, but that is about it.  The slit is weird. What is more weird is that she kept touching the slit trying to make it higher and Ryan Seacrest grabbed her hand so she couldn't raise it any higher!!

Zoe Saldana
I love the gold top and the bottom, don't like the middle part.  The bottom reminds me of pomping, but I love it.  I can picture this being two different dresses, a gold sequin one and one fading purple on with the great detailing.

Nothing really wowed me this year, maybe because I didn't feel good, but nothing horrified me.  There is always next year!!

Valentine's Day Fashion

No, not that Valentine's Day, this Valentine's Day fashion!

Do you think that there are enough people in the cast?  I don't.  They could have added a few more to try to draw in people.  Just kidding.  There are like 20 people "starring" in this movie which means that they get about 5 minutes of screen time each!! With this many people in the cast there should be at least a few cute dresses and there sure were! Fashion photos courtesy of Y!movies.

Jessica Biel
Gorgeous!!  I love the fit, color and fabric.  It is different, but not Lady Gaga different, you know what I mean??  And it is romantic.  P.S.  I love her lipstick!

Jennifer Garner
She looks so young and like she is having a good time. I like the leather and lace look, a little toughness with a little softness. This can be hard to pull off, but there is the right amount of lace and leather and not too much skin showing.  I can just imagine some young starlet wearing this, but with their skin showing instead of the nude fabric.  P.S. Love the shoes.

Emma Roberts
She looks young and fresh.  She isn't trying too hard (OK, maybe the shoes are trying too hard) and she looks beautiful.  I love the neckline and waist detailing.  P.S. Her earrings are awesome!

Julia Roberts and Emma Roberts
Just wanted to show Emma with her aunt!  P.S. They have the same smile!

I plan on watching this movie, what about you?

Grammy's 2010

From Red Carpet to Stage:

Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga loves to dress outrageous, so this wasn't a surprise.  I was expecting something a little more out there I guess, I think the shoes are the most surprising thing. It is incredibly short, but at least she wore panties, sparkly ones at that.  Then the kermit the frog getup with the football pads, no thanks.

Beyonce
Let me preface this by saying I am not a huge fan of Beyonce.  There I said it.  Now, on to the fashion, I don't like her red carpet look.  It is too tight, the wrong color, weird pattern, too light hair and did I mention too tight??  Performance attire is ok.  Her hair looks better and she is showing off her legs, although I wish she didn't have the tights on and she didn't keep grabbing herself during the performance.

Fergie
Love the red carpet look.  Fits perfectly, is the right length (not too long or short, not that I would wear something this short), and a great color for her. The gold accessories look nice, although the gold on her shoulder looks like a snake.  Performance outfit: She could be a Power Ranger in this outfit, plus the headband makes her look like Wonder Woman!

Pink
This is one of my 3 favorite red carpet looks.  I love the black, pewter, grey and silver.  I even love the fish scale look, it just works.  She has the right accessories too.  When I watched the Grammy's I didn't realize that her performance outfit was a bodysuit, so I was shocked they allowed that.  I guess all of her lady parts are covered, but I mean just barely!  When she finished her performance she literally ran off the stage it looked like from embarrassment.

Jennifer Neetles
The color of the dress is perfect, the fit is perfect and I like some of the black detailing.  I wish the semi-circle black detailing was gone.  I even like her tousled hair.  Her performance outfit isn't too bad.  I think the corset adds a bit of flair.  Not digging the hair.

All Wrong:
Britney Spears
It looks like she threw on a lace cover up over her one piece swimsuit.

Snooki
Don't like the shoes, dress is too tight and short and the hair just looks nasty.

Imogen Heap
It looks like she is wearing a quilter's circle around her neck.

Carrie Underwood
Ok, not all wrong, I think she is beautiful from the shoulders up.

All Right: (That reminds me of a Darius Rucker song!!)

Kathy Griffin
Wow! I like the color of the dress with her hair.  And she isn't trying to look 20 in a miniskirt. Funny, she did say she was starving on the red carpet!

Lea Michele
This dress is fun, young and flirty!  I love the color and the detailing on the skirt.  Good thing she ditched her original dress which was white and see-through and went with her back up dress!

Taylor Swift
Beautiful.  Another of my top 3 favorite looks.  I'm glad she didn't go with white, black, silver or gold, those seem to be her go to colors.  She changed it up a bit. It looks like the off the shoulder straps are actually holding up her dress, but for some reason I like it.  The neckline is different, but I like it on her.  And her hair, I wish I had hair like that!

Keri Hilson
I have not a clue what she sings ( I am notorious for not knowing who sings what, so I usually have to sing a few lines for anyone to know what song I am talking about, so that isn't saying much), but I love her look!  It is fabulous!!  The last of my top 3!!

SAG Awards 2010

Although I didn't get to watch the SAG's, I come on who airs an awards show on a Saturday night, I didn't miss the fashion!  The SAG's honor only people that are on TV or movies, not the people that make or direct them.  I also love that the honor ensembles, not just individuals.  Below is my take on the fashion of the night!  Photos courtesy of movies.yahoo.com

Colors of the Rainbow
These are some of my favorite dresses!

Carey Mulligan
I love the color and waist detail.  Although this is kind of a mermaid style, it is a little differentwiththe tuck behind the knee.

Diane Krugar
The shape is wow!  It fits her like a glove.  It reminds me of the dress that Michelle Williams wore to the Oscars a few ago, but a little duller.  I love the one shoulder with the drapping and even like droopy sleeve on this dress.

Jenna Fischer
She is not a fashionista, never claims to be, but this looks good on her.  It wouldn't be my first choice for my dress, but it looks really good with her skin tone and red hair.

Anna Kendrick
Again love the color!!  And the texture!! The top half of the dress has the lovely folds and the bottom looks layered, but shaggy.  Hair is simple and I love the lack of jewelry.

Lea Michele
Very different from her Golden Globes look, but equally gorgeous.  The color pops and the dress hugs the right curves.  I love that she wore her hair down and flowy.  The only improvement could be a S-M-I-L-E!

White: The GREAT, the OK and the Ugly

Kate Hudson
The GOOD.  I think she has a thing for white.  She wore it for a premier of Nine, the Golden Globes and now the SAG's, but this look is more streamlined than the others. I love the way she showed off her back with the low cut and especially by using the necklace to draw more attention to it.  The waist detailing is awesome too!

Marion Cotillard
The OK.  Hate her shoes, but think her dress is OK.  The one shoulder thing is really hot now, but I don't like the extra padding in this one shoulder.  It is like 3 inches high!  And the structure of the hips adds volume, which I wouldn't want.

Paula Patton
The BAD. Some pregnant women want to show off there bump, (think Heidi Klum at the Emmy's) and some like to hide it (apparently Paula Patton).  This looks like a bad wedding dress in my opinion with the tulle and the top half is ferocious!

Women in Black

Julianna Margulies
Not a fan.  Not a fan. I don't like the material or design.  I have watched her show and it was pretty good, but don't like her attitude off camera.  At least what I have seen anyway.

Penelope Cruz
Maybe not the right length.  It makes her appear short.  I don't like the appliqué  look, but her hair looks good.

Sandra Bullock
The dress fits perfectly, but I don't like the boxy shoulders or the blue feathers at the top.  But I think she is usually hit or miss on the red carpet.

Sophia Loren
I am speechless...

Prints of Peace

Meryl Streep
Love this on her.  She usually goes for comfort and this looks comfy, but not too much so.  Remember when she wore weird black pants with a black top and looked like she rolled out of bed and won??  Well I prefer this. The belt emphasizes her waist and the other black accessories continue the theme.

Michelle Monaghan
Does this count as a print? Well to me it does.  I like this for some reason, all of the individual aspects of the dress (asymmetrical hem, long one shoulder, overlay) I am not a fan of, but together they work.

Anna Paquin
Does this like a dress that you would where to the SAG's or out on a date?  I don't like the print, length or anything about it.

Your thoughts?
